Is there hope for me?!

In an impulsive moment of online retail-therapy, I ordered a spindle spinning kit.. which included both a top-whorl and a bottom-whorl spindles and 5 ounces of fiber to spin.. I got the package yesterday and I had to try it immediately.. Here is my first attempt at spindle spinning..

The kit comes with 1 ounce of undyed fiber for practice and 4 ounces of hand-dyed fiber. I am using the undyed fiber to get a hang of the technique.. My favorite yarn weight is lace-weight and fingering weight(sock weight). So, my aim is to spin yarn in these weights.. I think I am getting there in small baby steps..

My Hubster was very gracious about it when I told him that I have a new hobby. He is a keeper! :-) now, I'm doubting my intelligence in picking up a hobby for which I'll most definitely not get supplies here in India.
