Who am I?

My name is Jocelyn and friends call me Josie and I call myself knottygal! ;-)  I am a 34yr old living in Bangalore,India with my family.

I am a crafter by the night and a computer programmer by the day. The real me is in my life outside my 9-to-5 job..in my family and in my hobbies. I have a wonderful Hubster and two boys,a 10-yr old and a 5-yr old. You will see glimpses of my personal life in my blog.

Knitting is the only hobby that I have stuck to for a long time. I started knitting in year 2006 to kill the boredom after work although, I started knitting actively only in year 2008, many thanks to Ravelry. Crochet entered my life very late in year 2009. I do not crochet much unless I want to make bags.

I started sewing in mid-2009. The sewing machine was a gift from my Hubster and it is positively the best gift I've received till date. Its an Usha Janome Stitch Magic machine and serves me well. I love making bags and purses.

I also dabble in tatting, embroidery and quilling..the operative word here being 'dabble'. ;-) I like to learn new crafts and try my hand at things new to me. I want to learn to make candles..better my photography skills and try my hand at making jewelry.

I love stockinette stitch in knitting. I always have a mindless knitting project running. I love to knit early in the morning(a rarity these days) when no one in the household is awake. It feels almost like a meditation. I love reading trashy romantic novels. I absolutely hate grocery-shopping. Its a miracle my kitchen pantry is stocked. I think I've rambled on enough about me. So, tell me about yourself.. Introduce yourself in the comments section and tell me how you found me and my blog. I would love to hear from you.

I've heard from quite a few readers that they have trouble leaving comments on my posts. If so, please feel free to shoot me an email at handmadebyknottygal at gmail dot com I'll be glad to hear from you. I apologize for the inconvenience caused.

  2. knottygal! Love what you're doing. Comforting to know I'm not the only one suffering from what my hubby terms "Short attention syndrome". I'm into knitting/crochet/paper quilling/Chinese & Japanese paper crafts/calligraphy/latch hook...OK that's it. At the mo' I'm hooked on sock knitting so the box bag looks real good. Hint Hint:)
Find me on Ravelry profile name Buckaroo!

  7. Hi I found you through pattern central following the knitting bag pattern. you sound a lot like me where the patterns are concerned. I love knitting, quilting, sewing bags yesssssss! chrocheting , used to embroider a lot but only do that on occasion now as with most of my hobbies. my main stay seems to be knitting. there is just something relaxing about it. chrocheting goes faster but I don't seem to feel as relaxed as I do with the knitting. I am not crazy about shopping but do love to bake and cook especially soups! take care Linda
