The lace addiction continues..

I finished the Swallowtail shawl and I am in love with it! It took me jus over a month to finish it. I was lucky to have the right colored beads for this shawl. The beads have been with me for more that 3 years! I got 'em for a beaded tatted edging, but never got to make it. So, they came in handy for this shawl! Here are some pics of it before and after blocking.




The shawl looked really lifeless before blocking! Here is a snap before blocking:

This shawl is very special to me as its my first time:
  • knitting a triangular lace shawl
  • blocking something into shape
  • knitting with beads
and, I am very happy with the end result. I feel as if I have come of age in knitting. I have always thought of myself as a fickle-knitter. But, this project made me realize that I am not one. I can see a project to completion however big and complex it is, if I put my mind to it. I am proud of this shawl!!
