I've been busy..

..with lotsa crafty escapades! I made a baby sweater for my ex-colleague's son. Aditya is 5 months old now. And, summer is not the time to wear sweaters. So, I made the sweater in one yr old baby's size so that, by the time winter 2009 is here, he will be fit to wear the sweater. Of course, the measurements are from my son, Alvin. ;-) and he even modeled the sweater for me and obliged with me for a few pics! so, Here are the stats:

Pattern: Duo by Kristi Porter from knitty.com
Yarn: Oswal worsted weight acrylic
Needle: 4.5 mm
Started: Feb 6,2009
Finished: Feb 12,2009

I hope the recipient likes to wear it this winter.

Then, there was a make-over of an iron trunk! I dabbled in some hand-sewing for that! Its tiring but I liked the end results. I was spring-cleaning(summer-cleaning?!?) my house last weekend and I came across an eye-sore! We have an iron trunk which wasn't aesthetically pleasing to look at and totally jarring the decor of the house. I had stashed it under our dining table which was the only free space big enough to fit the trunk. I decided to stitch a cover for the trunk and convert it into a table/diwan. I went to work with curtain material which cost me 135 INR per meter and I used around 12 meters. So, after 12 hrs of stitching and burning gallons of midnight oil, I transformed the drab trunk into a decent table/diwan. So, here are the before and after snaps!

Before:

and after: Ta Da!!

Then I received a RAK(Random Acts of Kindness) package from Helena all the way from Finland. She sent me awesome sock yarn and two 4.0 mm circs and two set of 5 dpns dat I needed. The world is still going around because of kind souls like her. Thanks Helena! Here is a snap of the package after I opened it!

So, It was an eventful February for me and I loved it! Valentine's day was good too! My DH got me new toe-rings for this V-day. Alvin is growing too.. and getting smarter by the day. Touch wood!
